Request a quotation
The quickest route is our online request form. It is in Dutch, but the fields are straightforward — and you are very welcome to fill it in and write your message in English. We will reply in English.
Prefer e-mail? Send a message to info@haakzonwering.nl. The more you can tell us, the better we can prepare:
- A photo of the window, terrace or facade — taken from a few metres back.
- Rough measurements: width, and for an awning also the desired projection.
- Your address, so we know whether it is a listed building or a protected townscape.
- What you want to solve: heat inside, glare on a screen, privacy, or shade on the terrace.
What happens next
- We respond within one or two working days and, if useful, ask a few questions by e-mail or phone.
- We visit and measure at a time that suits you. This is free and without obligation, anywhere in the Haarlem region.
- You receive a written quotation with the system, the fabric, the operation, the installation and the warranty specified. No hidden extras afterwards.
- Our own fitters install it. We do not use subcontractors — the people who measure are the people who fit.
- We stay available afterwards for adjustment, maintenance and repair, from our own workshop in Haarlem.
Where we work
Haarlem is our home town, and we work throughout the surrounding region: Heemstede, Bloemendaal, Overveen, Aerdenhout, Santpoort, IJmuiden, Velsen, Zandvoort, Spaarndam, Hoofddorp, Hillegom, Beverwijk and Amstelveen. Amsterdam and the wider region are possible too — just ask.
Many of our English-speaking customers are expats renting or buying a period house in Haarlem or an apartment in Amstelveen. If you rent, we are happy to put the quotation in a form you can submit to your landlord or owners’ association (VvE).
Questions before you get in touch
| Do I need permission for sun shading? | For most homes in the Netherlands, exterior sun shading is permit-free. In a protected townscape such as Haarlem city centre, or on a listed building, shading on the front facade may require a permit. We have worked in the old centre for decades and will tell you honestly what is and is not possible. |
|---|---|
| I am renting. Is that a problem? | No, but you will need your landlord’s consent for anything fixed to the facade. We can supply a quotation and a technical description you can forward to them. |
| How long does it take? | Everything is made to measure. Delivery is typically two to eight weeks depending on the product and the season; installation itself is usually one day. |
| What does it cost? | Roller shutters and screens start at around € 450–475, drop-arm awnings from € 550, markiezen from € 775, folding-arm awnings from € 900, conservatory shading from € 2,350 and pergola shading from € 3,650 — all complete, including installation by our own team. |
| Do you speak English on site? | Yes. Advice, measurement, the quotation and the handover can all be done in English. |
